Head's Welcome

Welcome to The Heights Academy

It is a privilege to be the Headteacher of this new and developing school; proudly part of Forward Education Trust family of schools.

The school opened its doors in September 2023 with the aim to be a specialist provision for children from 8-16 years old with an Education, Health and Care Plan. Our unique educational approach is tailored specifically for those diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and associated Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. We are proud to be a designated choice by the Solihull Local Authority for these learners.

As the school is growing, following a careful plan of expansion up to 116 pupils, some of our work is still in progress and we are working with a range of professionals and experts in helping us to plan for improvement as the school grows.

For September 2025 the school has created and started to use a new approach to learning with a scheme of 3 pathways to support the progress of our range of learners. Children attending the school have great potential to learn and could be working within age related expectations. The curriculum has been adapted to allow us challenge children from this level to those with more barriers to their learning.

I am very excited to be leading the school to become a place of sanctuary for our pupils where they can learn and express themselves freely. As a new leader I am very much looking forward to getting to know the staff, pupils and families in more depth so that we can achieve the aims of the school.

I look forward to meeting with you if you are a prospective pupil or parent of this welcoming and friendly school.
